Frequently Asked Questions

  • All Painting Pandas classes are curated with age-appropriate projects and supplies using a wide variety of art materials and techniques. Students learn to draw, mold, and create and all lesson plans incorporate cross-curricular connections and educational components including literacy, math, science, and history while incorporating fine motor skills, imagination, problem solving, social and spatial skills, and self-esteem and confidence. Students are also introduced to many historic artists and world leaders. Our theme-based courses consist of six lessons for each age group and are led by experienced teachers trained in the Painting Panda method and who teach a lesson within a lesson.

Painting Pandas classes are broken down by age group: Kindergarten-1st grade, 2nd-3rd, and 4th-5th. Each class meets once-a-week during one of our three six-week sessions of Fall, Winter, and Summer. Why elementary-age only? Our research shows that in many cases by middle school, it’s too late to start the love of art and art making. We hope to get our young students’ creative juices flowing at an early age so they will acquire the love of art and continue enjoying it for years to come.

  • All students receive a free art kit that includes essentials for each themed course. These may include a pencil, sharpener, sketchbook, watercolors, crayons, markers, glue stick, scissors, drawing paper, and watercolor paper. Kits also include age-appropriate sculpting and mixed media materials, which vary based on the class and age group. All art supplies are name-brand products to ensure students have equal access to high-quality materials.

  • Any elementary-age student in grades Kindergarten-5th grade.
