Why we do it?

“Why the arts?” is a question we often get. Shouldn’t we be focusing on the basic learning skills of math, reading, writing, history, and the likes? We are. Through art!

Children need an outlet to ignite and support their creativity as well as a safe place to express their feelings and emotions. Art not only helps with creativity and imagination, but it has also proven instrumental in refining many other vital skills, including:

  • Hand-eye coordination

  • Spatial skills

  • Social skills

  • Language skills

  • Problem-solving

  • Patterns

  • Sequencing

  • Self-esteem and self-confidence

  • Writing

Different kids learn in different ways and some learn better when seeing and doing rather than just watching and listening. Art allows them “do” and it can also incorporate science, history, and other subject area curriculums.
